Flower Moon Grief Release Ritual

MAY 1 | 12-3PM PST | 3-6PM EST | ONLINE

There is a reason flowers bloom in May. Not despite the winter, but because of it.

Everything that died underground, everything that went dark and quiet and still, is what makes the bloom possible.

Grief works the same way.

On the Flower Full Moon  - also May Day, Beltane, the threshold between spring and summer - we gather online to move with what has been buried, quiet, or too much to carry alone so that we can bloom.

This is an invitation to let your grief move.

This is not a workshop about grief. It’s not a talking circle. It’s not a performance.

This is a ritual space to dance your grief.

To let the body lead and ritual heal.
To let the music hold what words can’t.
To be witnessed without needing to explain.

I created the first grief dance after losing my brother Geoffrey. I didn’t plan it. I built a ritual consenter, and a set, chose every track to align to the five phases of grief, and invited people to move through with  me  from the insanity of denial to the peace of acceptance.

That night changed something. It became a container I knew I had to keep building.

What to Expect

  • Ritual: We use the ritual of creating our altar to externalize our grief and create a new relationship with it
  • Movement: We use movement to somatically move the grief and create more spaciousness within. There is no right way - cameras on or off. Just let the music move what needs to move.
  • Community: We are witnessed without being fixed by others who are also in their own process. We don't do this alone.

You don’t have to be in fresh, acute grief to come.

This ritual is for you if:

  • You’re carrying something old that never quite had a place to land.
  • You’re holding unnamed grief: for what never happened, for the world, for versions of you that didn’t get to live.
  • You’ve been too busy, too responsible, or too afraid to feel what’s under the surface.
  • You’re not sure what you’re grieving, but you can feel something heavy in your body.
  • You want a gentle, honest space that doesn’t demand you explain or make sense of it all.

The Flower Moon doesn’t ask you to have it figured out. It just asks you to show up and let something move.
